Hydrogen and Green Energy for a Sustainable Energy Future

Given the European Union’s goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, we recognize the importance of efforts made in this direction by each member state of the EU and every market player: companies, public institutions and civil society members alike.

Through collaboration and accountability, we can accelerate the transition to a sustainable future, where green energy and hydrogen play a defining role in reducing environmental impact and promoting a low-carbon economy. We align our efforts with both macro-level and micro-level objectives and those at the micro-level with practical applicability, thus actively supporting the evolution of our industry.

We are proactively preparing for the hydrogen era by developing the expertise needed to build and implement safe and efficient infrastructure for hydrogen production, transportation, distribution, and storage. Our involvement draws on our extensive experience in utility construction projects for fluids such as natural gas, oil, petrochemical products, and water. Carbon capture and storage are also key areas of development.

At present, we conduct specialized tests both internally, on our own Industrial Platform, and in collaboration with established academic and professional partners, on a national and international level.

As renewable energy sources fill a significant part of the energy gap, natural gas becomes an important transitional fuel, with sustained growth projected until 2050 in the overall energy mix.

The increased usage of natural gas is being fueled in part by its reduced pollution emissions as compared to traditional fossil fuels.

Furthermore, by adapting and modernizing existing pipes, current natural gas infrastructure may be reused for hydrogen transportation, enabling the distribution and storage of this sustainable fuel.

Hydrogen represents a versatile and environmentally friendly energy vector, which can be sustainably produced and will play a key role in the integrated energy system in the near future.

The use of hydrogen as an energy source has various advantages, including the fact that it does not generate carbon dioxide or other kinds of air pollution.

The percentage of hydrogen in the European energy mix is expected to expand at least sevenfold from where it is now (2024) to over 14% by 2050.

INSPET S.A. SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT | 2023

Under the aegis of ENTSOG, we join the Financing Task Force of the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance’s Transmission & Distribution H2 Roundtable

As active members of the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance, we participate in international events and working groups that promote investments and widespread implementation of clean hydrogen-related technologies. Drawing on our expertise as a renowned construction company in strategic gas installations, we provide input on specific material needs, installation technologies, and financing mechanisms for hydrogen projects.

INSPET is the only Romanian construction company specialized in fluid infrastructure and complex installations to join this global Transmission & Distribution H2 Roundtable in 2023. Our presence in this working group indicates both our interest in Romania’s transition to a hydrogen economy and acknowledgement of our experience and initiatives in the sector.

We Promote a Sustainable Future Through Green Energy – Photovoltaic Installations

In our pursuit of sustainable and efficient solutions to meet our electricity consumption needs while also contributing to environmental preservation, we have successfully reduced both our carbon footprint and operational costs by harnessing solar energy on our own premises.

We have installed photovoltaic panels at the INSPET West Industrial Platform in Ploiești, which now generate clean, renewable electricity. This initiative allows us to significantly reduce our carbon footprint and directly mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. We are committed to continuing our investment in this direction, with the goal of expanding the use of self-generated solar energy across all INSPET consumption sites.

We Are at the Forefront of Mobility Developments

Our goal is to create a future that is more environmentally conscious and sustainable, and our electric vehicle fleet initiative is an important step in that direction. We take pride in having the largest electric vehicle fleet in Prahova County, along with an extensive charging infrastructure both at our headquarters and on the INSPET West Industrial Platform (where we also generate renewable energy).

Every electric vehicle and piece of equipment we add to our fleet plays a part in creating a healthier environment for our community and future generations.

We are gradually replacing vehicles and equipment with internal combustion engines with eco-friendly electric ones.
