The construction industry for energy infrastructure in Romania and worldwide is undergoing rapid transformation. Projects are becoming increasingly complex, technical requirements are rising, and economic volatility forces companies to continuously adapt. In this context, performance no longer means simply completing projects, but the ability of an organization to evolve, anticipate change and build for the long term.

For INSPET, the past few years have represented exactly this process of transformation. In a sector constantly exposed to economic and technological pressures, the company adopted a model of operational and strategic agility that strengthened its position in the field of energy infrastructure construction.

This adaptation was built through several strategic directions. The company diversified its business lines, expanding beyond traditional pipeline construction for energy fluids into areas such as water and wastewater works, industrial construction, residential projects and mixed developments. At the same time, INSPET began developing capabilities in the renewable energy sector, preparing for the transformation of European energy systems.

The organizational transformation was also supported by the modernization of internal processes — a participatory management model focused on operational efficiency and strict cost control. Through this approach, the company consolidated itself as an organization capable of responding to the volatility of the energy sector and delivering complex projects under demanding conditions.

“In energy infrastructure there are no simple projects. Every project carries long-term responsibility. The pipelines and installations we build must operate safely for decades.”

National Recognition and Industry Leadership

The company’s financial and operational performance has been consistently confirmed through national and regional recognition. Based on the results for 2024, INSPET received several major distinctions confirming its position in the energy infrastructure construction sector.

One particularly significant achievement is that INSPET ranked No. 1 in the National Top of Companies for utility construction projects for fluids for 15 consecutive years, a performance that reflects the company’s consistency and stability in a highly competitive technical field.

This ranking confirms INSPET’s role as one of Romania’s leading contractors in the infrastructure sector for the transport and processing of energy fluids, including natural gas transmission pipelines, technological installations and complex industrial projects.

The company also ranked No. 1 in the Top Business Romania 2025, in the category 4221 – Construction of utility projects for fluids, at the Prahova County level.

At the regional level, INSPET ranked No. 1 in the Prahova Companies Top 2025, organized by the Prahova Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the category Construction – Medium Enterprises.

These distinctions confirm the company’s operational performance and its ability to deliver complex energy infrastructure projects according to high technical standards.

As our colleagues often say on construction sites and in projects:

“Awards are important, but they are only the result of the work done on site. Behind every project are people who take their profession seriously.”

Building Long-Term Performance in Energy Infrastructure

Maintaining a leadership position in the National Top of Companies for utility construction projects for fluids is not the result of a single project or a fortunate moment. It is the result of an organizational culture built over time.

At INSPET, the way projects are delivered is guided by several essential values:

  • Integrity and Reciprocity
  • Agility and Frugality
  • Proactivity and Adaptability
  • Commitment and Responsibility
  • One Team

These principles define how the company approaches every project — from engineering and planning to on-site execution.

In energy infrastructure, projects are not merely technical investments. They become part of systems that must operate safely for decades. For this reason, the company’s professional culture emphasizes execution discipline, respect for the profession and collaboration between teams.

Performance emerges when these values are reflected in every stage of the project — in technical decisions, in teamwork and in the responsibility assumed towards partners and beneficiaries.

“At INSPET we believe that performance is built over time through integrity, responsibility and teamwork. Every project is the result of genuine collaboration between people who respect their profession and understand that energy infrastructure is built not for a year or two, but for generations.”

This approach has allowed the company to remain consistently among the top firms in the construction sector for energy fluid infrastructure and to deliver complex projects for the energy sector in Romania and across the region.

ARACO Excellence Trophy – A Decade of Award-Winning Projects

A particularly meaningful moment for the company was the award of the ARACO Excellence Trophy 2015–2025.

This distinction recognizes INSPET’s significant contribution to the development of Romania’s construction industry over the past decade. During this period, eight projects delivered by INSPET received the ARACO Quality Trophy, confirming the company’s high execution standards, technological innovation and professional responsibility.

Projects That Build Romania’s Energy Infrastructure

Professional recognition is ultimately linked to the projects delivered.

One representative example is the Onești-M Natural Gas Compressor Station, one of the most recent projects completed by INSPET teams. This infrastructure is part of Romania’s national natural gas transmission system and contributes to strengthening the country’s energy security as well as the interconnection of regional energy systems.

The station is equipped with two Solar Turbines CENTAUR compressor units, each with a power of 4.6 MW, and allows bidirectional gas transportation.

“When you see the finished installation, you see pipelines and equipment. But behind them are years of engineering, thousands of working hours and teams that worked like a perfectly synchronized mechanism.”

Modern Technologies: Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD)

In modern oil and gas infrastructure projects, one of the essential technologies is Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), used for pipeline crossings.

Horizontal drilling projects, also known as trenchless crossings, are complex works in the oil and gas infrastructure sector and provide major advantages because construction sites and works do not interfere with daily activities in the surrounding areas.

This technology allows pipelines to be installed underground without open trenches, without traffic interruption and without major environmental impact. Using this method, pipelines can cross rivers, railways or urban areas without disturbing existing infrastructure.

INSPET has extensive experience using this technology and was one of the first companies in Romania to promote horizontal directional drilling solutions.

Among the reference projects delivered using HDD technology are:

  • Crossing of the Olt River over a length of 500 m, with a 813 mm gas pipeline, as part of the BRUA project, the largest investment project in Romania’s gas industry (2020).

  • Crossing of the Danube River, consisting of two 2,100 m pipelines with a diameter of 508 mm, in the Giurgiu–Ruse area, part of the interconnection between the Romanian and Bulgarian gas transmission systems.

  • Crossing of the Prut River over 700 m, as part of the Romania–Moldova gas interconnection project between Iași and Ungheni.

The most recent project where this technology was used involved the rehabilitation and replacement of 12” and 14” crude oil pipeline sections in Prahova County, Romania, for the beneficiary CONPET S.A. One of the works included crossing the railway lines in the Ploiești Triaj area, without affecting railway traffic.

Technical Capacity and Own Equipment Base

To deliver such complex works, INSPET operates its own equipment, machinery and industrial bases, including production and assembly platforms where metal structures, technological installations and industrial equipment are prepared for major projects.

This infrastructure allows the company to manage projects under the EPCC model – Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning, offering clients full control over the execution process.

For international partners, this capacity means working with a contractor capable of delivering complex energy infrastructure projects — from transmission pipelines to industrial installations and technological stations.

A Company Built by People – INSPET

Beyond numbers, awards and projects, the story of INSPET is first and foremost about people.

Over more than 35 years of activity, the company’s teams have delivered:
