Predictability is becoming an essential condition for energy investment.
Our company attended the ”Eurogas Annual Regional Conference 2026”, held today in Bucharest and organised by Eurogas in cooperation with the Romanian Energy Employers Federation (FPE), under the theme “Advancing security, delivering sustainability: Romania’s role in building a resilient and competitive energy transition in Eastern Europe.”
Eurogas is an important voice for the gas industry at European level, and the Bucharest conference brought together representatives of public authorities, international organisations and the energy industry, including Cristian Bușoi – Secretary of State, Ministry of Energy; Dennis Hesseling – Head of Gas and Coal Markets Division, International Energy Agency (IEA); Răzvan Popescu – CEO, Romgaz; Cristian Signoretto – President, Eurogas; and Daniel Apostol – Director General, FPE, alongside many other leading representatives of the sector.
One of the key themes of the discussions was the need for predictability. At a time when rising costs and economic pressures are affecting competitiveness, major energy investments require stability, a long-term perspective and a framework that enables projects to move forward.
For Romania, this discussion is particularly relevant, as domestic gas production and the development of offshore resources can contribute to the security and affordability of energy supply across the region. This was also one of the central topics addressed at the Eurogas conference.
At the same time, storage capacity needs to be developed alongside production and transmission infrastructure. Energy security is not only about having resources available, but also about having the capacity to transport, store and deliver them to the market when they are needed.
For INSPET SA, the perspective remains pragmatic: production, transmission, storage and modern critical infrastructure are interconnected parts of the same energy system, one capable of supporting security of supply, economic competitiveness and long-term investment.
