The future of energy infrastructure begins earlier than we thought, in classrooms, laboratories, and in direct conversations between students and industry companies. This year, we attended the Black Sea Student Summit 2026 at the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești, a place where energy is present both literally and figuratively.
With more than 6,000 students currently enrolled and a steady stream of graduates each year in fields such as oil and gas, hydrocarbon transportation and storage, and process engineering installations, the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești remains a key pillar in developing the workforce for the energy sector. At the same time, industry demand for skilled professionals continues to grow, making the connection between academia and business more important than ever.
We were impressed by the direct questions and the genuine interest in the practical side of the industry. These are encouraging signs for the next generation, which will take on increasingly complex projects and help shape the future of the energy sector.
